Safety and high performance, Honda Accord 2008

The new 2008 Honda Accord has been one of the top five best selling Honda models for the last two decades and is considered the solid rock of the Japanese company. Although its conservative styling and performance, the Accord has developed a reputation as being a consistent car with a high resale value, achieving sales of 15 million units in 150 countries. Now, Accord 8th generation is moving towards more enhancements with an expanded range of advanced technologies designed for more power. The new model is completely redesigned and is in line with the segment’s trends. The vehicle dimensions have grown and the car size now is bigger than the Nissan Maxima and Altime.
The exterior styling is a bit angular and there’s a hint of slight aggressiveness at the front and rear with stronger character lines. Internally, the car is cavernous and there is generous amount of leg and head room for all occupants. In general, the new model has become more luxurious comparing with previous models.

Honda has replaced the old 3-litre V6 engine with a bigger 3.5-litre I-VETC SOHC V6 engine that performs 271bhp at 6200rpm the most ever of any Accord models. Honda has designed new technology called variable cylinder management (VCM). VCM allows all six cylinders to work when power is required and 4 and 3 cylinders modes for fuel efficiency depending on the situation. Honda Accord also offered a 4-cylinders 2.4-litre DOHC VTEC engine that performs 178bhp at 6500rpm. Both engines come with a 5-speed automatic gearbox.
