2009 Audi A8 preview

audi a8 2009 Audi A8 preview

The Audi A8 has long been hailed as one of the most powerful luxury cars on the market.  While the 2009 Audi A8 will see almost no changes, the 2010 model is set for big things.  However, the current model offers several options for those seeking both power and refined European luxury. The Audi line appeals to those with an eye for refined luxury and understated power and the A8 truly delivers on that desire.

The base model (the standard A8) is available with a 4.2L V8 engine, which produces 350 horsepower.  However, the A8 L is available with the V10 as well as the W12 engines.  These represent enormous power gains.  The W12 puts out 450 horsepower, while the V10 comes in slightly behind it.  Of course, all this power adds up to low fuel economy, but if you can afford the price tag for the A8 L ($120K), then filling up the tank is probably not an issue.

The A 8 (base model) also offers heated and electronically adjustable rear seats, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, 4-zone automatic heating and air conditioning and many other impressive upgrades. The A 8 L expands the A 8’s wheelbase, to an impressive 121 inches.  That gives the rear seats more than 42 inches of legroom, some of the most on the market in a luxury sedan.

Other standard features are the integrated Bluetooth wireless communications system, which controls the radio, CD player, phone, navigation system and security glass. The A 8 also enjoys an advanced keyless entry and remote start option and a sublime rearview camera system to help you navigate those parking lots and avoid painful dings to your prized car.  A rear DVD entertainment system is also available to help keep your passengers entertained on long drives.

The vehicle is also available as the S 8, which improves the sports capabilities with a more powerful engine and enhanced luxury interior appointments.  Regardless of the trim level purchased, the 2009 Audi A 8 is a remarkable machine, built for understated luxury and pure power on the road.  Drivers will find that their enjoyment is assured as they cruise effortlessly past other vehicles on the highway, while enjoying one of the smoothest rides available on the market, today.  While the 2010 A 8 may be some time off, the current model offers more than sufficient incentive to invest in German engineering.
