The Lexus RX 350 broke new ground when it debuted back in the 1990’s. The SUV has continued to be a staple of the luxury market, with a hefty price tag and matching options throughout the vehicle. Unfortunately for Lexus, innovations seem to have stopped with the original model. The new 2009 Lexus RX 350 sees very little that differs from the previous model year. However, 2010 is the year slated for a full redesign, so if you can wait another year or so, do it.

However, if you find that you simply must purchase this year’s RX 350, you’ll need to know what you’re looking at. First, the engine remains the same. There is only a single engine and transmission pairing in the line, so you don’t have to worry about making a tough decision. The new Pebble Beach edition (with free golf clubs, no less!) offers a 3.5-liter V6 with variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-I). The transmission is a 5-speed automatic transmission with shift logic controller for the smoothes shifting possible. The RX 350 also comes in two flavors: all-wheel drive (AWD) or front-wheel drive (FWD). [Read more →]

With an increasing number of people purchasing autos online and an economy that dictates frequent movement; there is a good chance that you will be faced with shipping your vehicle at some point. While professional shippers are experienced and reliable for the most part, there is always the possibility for something to happen on the road, so it is up to you to make sure all necessary steps are taken to protect your property. The following guidelines will help minimize the possibility of vehicular damage while in transport; as well as ensure collection of compensation should any damage occur.

Clean it out

It’s amazing how many people forget to remove their personal items from their cars. Removing all items from inside the auto, including the trunk, ensures the items remain in your possession, as well as reduces the chance of blemishes to the interior. An automotive carrier’s insurance won’t cover items left inside of a vehicle, and loose items can rattle around and cause damage that too will not be covered.

Wash It Off

Carefully wash and inspect the exterior of the vehicle. Make note of any existing damage. Photograph the car from all angles and document when the pictures were taken. In the unfortunate circumstance that damage does occur, this will give you evidence you need to file a claim.
