Audi R8 to get massive V12 engine
The stunning Audi has enhanced the appeal of its R8 by shoe horning a powerful V12 engine under the bonnet. Speculation is extensive, Audi is planning to unveil a new diesel version of its fast car with the acclaimed TDi engine at this week’s Detroit motor show. German automobile magazine Auto Motor and Sport mentioned that the R8 TDi is intended for production.
The car is set to have around 500bhp and 1001Nm of torque which will sharpen the acceleration to reach 0-100Km/h in only 4.2 seconds. The car will also return a superb 28 mpg fuel economy on highway. Critics are however concerned that the larger V12 engine might reduce the car’s luggage space making it less practical. (Would you care about this if you buy the super R8 ??)
