BMW stunning CS Concept to be produced soon

BMW’s Concept CS will now become a production model called the Gran Turismo. Designed by Chris Bangle, the CS Concept thrilled people when it debuted at the Shanghai Motor Show last year. In Gran Turismo road’s form, it will compete with Mercedes’s CLS and other forthcoming four door coupes like the Porche Panomera and Aston Martin Rapide. According to BMW, the new car is a hybrid mix of grand tourer and high performance sports car and dictates new direction in design for the German manufacture.
Gerhard Richter has been appointed from BMW executive board to head the project aimed at transforming the CS concept into the Gran Turismo. Richter has been at BMW M-division since 1979. He spent more than a quarter of century tinkering with some of the most charismatic cars in the BMW history. Richter will have to manage the commercialization of many of the design features of the CS, including the double BMW headlamp arrangement featuring innovative LED reverse projection technology to provide the illumination.
The low-slung saloon coupe feel of the CS is expected to be carried over into the production model. The drivetrain is still a closely guarded secret, although it is believed an enlarged 6-litre version of current 5-litre V10 found in the M5 and M6 will power the new stunning BMW Gran Turismo.
