Chevy Volts to return 230mpg in city driving

chevy volt

Last week, General Motors exposed the expected fuel economy figures for the upcoming Chevy Volt, which will whop 230mpg in city driving.

Although not entirely comparable to the all electric Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt will definitely give the market leader Toyota Prius a run for its money.

GM said the figures have been reached using current guidelines set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the USA, which if true, makes this all American green car fit for the challenge.

The Volt holds a grand 180mpg advantage over the Prius and data suggests the Chevy will ise about $3 worth of electricity per 160km which is less than the regular price. However, it will go only 65km on a single charge, far less than the Leaf’s 160km, the Volt will take a further 482km using its (Fuel-powered electric generator). Plus, if you need a bit more covering when accelerating, the GENERATOR will pitch in, giving you an edge over other electric cars.
